Gifted and Talented Program:
The College Station Independent School District defines a gifted student as one who performs at a remarkably high level of accomplishment when compared to others of the same age, experience. or environment, and who exhibits a high performance capacity for leadership, or excels in a specific academic field. All student enrolled in CSISD have equal access to be identified under this definition.
CSISD serves students in the GT Program in grades Kindergarten thru 12th grade. For more information about CSISD's Gifted and Talented Program please feel free to read the District GT Plan.
CSISD begins formal identification of the gifted and talented in the second semester of each year. Kindergarten students are nominated and screened for GT services to begin no later than March 1st of their Kindergarten year.
Each spring semester nominations are accepted for students grades 1-12 for screening for possible placement in the program. If you are interested in nomination a child, forms will be available here in the spring semester.
Presently the screening process includes the following:
Enrichment Class:
Our enrichment class will meet once a week in my classroom. Enrichment Class is for student who are not identified at GT, but could benefit from some extra challenges throughout the week. We meet in a group of 15-20 students for 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on their grade level. During Enrichment time, we focus on creativity and critical thinking skills.
Enrichment Math:
The Enrichment Math group is a group of 4th grade students which meets once a week in the enrichment room. Students in the Enrichment Math group have been identified as needing a little bit of extra challenge during the week in the area of math. They meet in a group for about 45 minutes twice a week. During Enrichment Math, we focus on problem solving as well as critical thinking.

- Logramos {for Spanish speakers}
- Cognative Abilities Test {Cogat}
- Teacher Rating Scale
